Building Markets that Meet the Needs of Our Stakeholders
Consumer behavior is changing. They crave more convenience, while at the same time they are craving local. They are more environmentally responsible and they demand social justice. Can farmers markets adapt themselves to changing consumer behaviors? Can they balance the needs of consumers with the needs of their farmers and vendors? Can they build market systems, programs and services that will balance consumer trends with farmer needs, and ensures market sustainability?
These are the questions before farmers markets as we enter the next decade. To help farmers markets find their way through the maze of new trends and consumer behaviors, the Board of the Farmers Market Federation of NY announces the upcoming NYS Farmers Market Managers Conference, “Building Markets that Meet the Needs of our Stakeholders”.
The conference, set for March 3 – 4, 2020 at the Best Western in Kingston, NY, will look at a number of means that markets can identify consumer behavior changes and work toward that balance of consumer vs farmer.
