Program Administrator
Job Description
The FMFNY is a not-for-profit organization located in Syracuse, NY, with the mission to support and promote the viability of farmers markets through innovative services, programs and partnerships that maximize the benefits of markets to sellers, buyers and communities. A number of programs and services have been developed to support the mission.
The Program Administrator will provide leadership in administering Federation programs that support farmers markets in New York State. As part of a team, the Program Administrator will also assist in the development of future programs and services that support the Federation mission. The Program Administration will also perform other duties that will maintain the organization, its members, partners and supporters.
Responsibilities
Share the responsibilities of administering two of the organization’s ongoing programs: FMM Pro – Managers Certification Program and Farmers Market Managers Conference
work with market managers and partners
participate in financial recordkeeping
maintain work plan/schedule
report to funders
Work cooperatively with the Executive Director to establish new projects; secure funding
Assist with Board Committees to complete work assignments per Federation strategic plan
Promote the organization to stakeholders to build awareness and continued support; i.e. press releases, social media, events
Minimum Qualifications
5 years of experience in nonprofit management or farmers markets.
Office and financial management and nonprofit administrative skills
Ability to travel throughout NYS to meet with and represent the organization to market managers and their supporters, and other collaborating agencies
Computer skills:
working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
working knowledge of website development
comfort level with technology
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Grant writing skills
Strong leadership abilities.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work in a cooperative manner with individuals from diverse backgrounds
Some agriculture experience helpful
The job is contingent upon a six month performance review before permanent placement is made.
Salary Level: $23.00- $26.00, based on a 24 hour week; commensurate with qualifications
Location: Syracuse, NY- In-person, hybrid, and remote will be negotiated
